Firewall Issues
Are you behind a firewall?
When you see the question, "Are you behind a firewall?" and
are not sure if you are or not, say No.
What is a firewall?
Well,
it is a piece of software which acts like a gateway in a company
to allow or deny access to their computers. If you are using Real Time Markets
from your place of business there is a good chance that your company
has an internal firewall.
However, if you are paying around $20
or less per month for internet service and/or use a modem to connect,
chances are you are NOT behind a firewall.
Most people are not.
So, please click no and continue the login process.
If you are behind a firewall:
Please have your network administrator or IT contact enable
use of the Real Time Markets software within your company on your desk by providing
them with the following information:
To open a pinhole connection to Real Time Markets please use TCP/IP format
on Port 9983 with data to and from host.realtimemarkets.net
If you are unable to connect after opening the pinhole, there
are a few items to consider:
Is your proxy server enabled for Name resolution? Also, is it set
up for routable IPs?
If you continue to have trouble setting this up, please email
us (support@realtimemarkets.com) with the type of proxy, firewall you
are using as well as the name and telephone number of your contact
person so that we may contact you and assist you further.
